Playstation Mobile goes Live Today

Due to less fortunate events I was left without my trusted Xperia S earlier this year and am awaiting a replacement device (fingers crossed for the Xperia T!) and so have been relying on my Xperia arc S recently, however my eyes are still firmly placed on the goings on surrounding the Sony Mobile world.

Today is the go live date for Playstation Mobile, and the line up certainly looks promising with a host of content from third party developers as well as a number of treats developed by Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (plus Beats Trellis, developed by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Inc.).

Prices don't seem to be breaking the bank either. Premium content ranges from US$0.79-$5.49 though I've yet to locate a UK/EU price list and without a certified phone cannot check this (comments welcome!). and a full UK price list can be found courtesy of XperiaBlog, ranging between £0.40-£4.99.

Regional variations in content are a controvercial issue with Playstation content, however despite one of the game being developed by SCEE, this does not appear to be an issue with Playstation Mobile, which is welcoming.

One of the games on offer, Everybody's Arcade is listed as a freebie on the US source which may or may not be a sign of things to come, however under any circumstances is worth checking out. I would like to hope this is offered free in all regions.

To see the full list of games from launch, check out Phandroid with the US price list, or the Playstation EU Blog with a helpful selection of highlights.

The list of playstation certified devices includes most Xperia branded devices, Sony Tablet P and Tablet S and a selection of HTC phones including One, One X, One S and One V, with further hardware manufacturers including Asus, Fujitsu and Sharp planning to create Playstation Certified hardware in the future. Of notable interest is the WikiPad, a tablet designed for gaming which is also said to be Playstation Certified. XperiaBlog provides a comprehensive list of Playstation Certified devices as of today, 03 October 2012.

UPDATE: I have been informed that whilst Everybody's Arcade is free, it is actually a portal to further premium games rather than a game or collection of games itself. Klondike is available to play for free, but only on trial. I have also been informed of package price deals, including £7.99 for 5 or £5.49 for 3.
